Valentines day shamlentines day... our favorite February holiday is Darwin's birthday! This year we took Darwin Day to a whole new level.

I don't know whose idea it was to make 13 different kinds of empanadas and arrange them according to the ingredients' phylogeny (oh, was that my idea?) but that took a little while. I spent the entire afternoon the day before researching it. Who knew a dinner party could take so much research?
With the help of some friends we somehow pulled it off before 7:30.

Some people also dressed for the occasion.
We set out some appropriate reading materials,
But then we had to move them because people brought so many creative potluck items!
