Bring on the SUMMER!

Hi friends, it's been a little while!
Don't worry, I haven't abandoned you. Life where we left off was pretty busy, but then it was suddenly really not busy. So I don't really have any excuses for not blogging about my marvelous life.

Lets see, school ended, my evaluations were lovely, lots of nice words were exchanged. I really enjoyed my program. But summer is here and I'm back in good ol' Kingston town. I'm working at foxglove greenhouses again this summer, but only on the weekends. I'm very glad I'm only working weekends though, because due to my sister blowing up my car I don't have very reliable transportation to work and have been riding my bike to work, which is partly a great way to start the day and great exercise and partly makes me want to die at 6:30 in the morning. But it builds character.

One notable event before school ended was the departure of Khaled, an exchange student from Yemen who has spent the year here, who many of us have come to befriend and love. I came home from Olympia for his goodbye party, so that was nice. Around about 9 at night, Blythe and I decided that we would never see him again (unlike all the other people at the party who go to school with him and aren't away at college all the time) and that we should go on an all-night adventure celebration. So we kidnapped Khaled and went on "Adventure Day" which was just a drive to Seattle to Dylan's apartment and adventure around Seattle until 5 in the morning. It was a good time. Bye Khaled, you will be missed.

Our Olympia family has parted ways for the summer, Hanna is on a jungle adventure in Belize for 3 months, Heather is staying in Olympia at our house because she loves working at the financial aid office so much, and I'm back here planting cabbages. Here is a family portrait right before Hanna left us.

Right after leaving Olympia me and the peeps gathered to start summer off right by heading to Lake Cushman for boat times. Life is just so good.

In other news, the bread wars have begun. Not really, mine and mom's bread are living together peacefully in harmony. This came out of the oven yesterday, it has roasted garlic, carmelized onions, and fresh oregano and basil in it... best ever.

You can just call me the bread queen. (Admitedly, mom's bread is incredible too... but I was appalled and jealous to learn that she uses the mixer instead of kneading it like a real bread maker. Gonna have to get me one of those...)

Happy Summer!
